The differences between independent, dependent, and inconsistent systems of equations is as follows:

• Independent systems:  have different slopesand they have one solution.

• Dependent systems:  have the same slope, y-intercept, they are the same line.

• Inconsistentsystems: no solution, same slope, and same y-intercept
